European brand hotel Le Méridien enters Chinese hotel in Shanghai

The Shanghai Shimao Royal Le Méridien, invested by Shimao Group, will test its business in Shanghai on September 25. This is the first time that Le Meridien, a European brand, has entered China after joining Starwood.

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is a hotel brand under the Starwood Hotels & Resorts International Group, founded in France. Yan Wen, Communication Manager at Le Méridien Hotel, said that Starwood is optimistic about the Chinese hotel market, and Shanghai is also the economic hub city of China. The hotel industry is prosperous and the conditions are relatively mature. The arrival of Amy's brand in Shanghai at this time is also aimed at the 2010 World Expo. According to relevant sources from the Shanghai Tourism Administration, although the number of Shanghai hotels is currently relatively large, it has not reached the demand for the 2010 World Expo, so there is still room for development.

Shanghai Le Royal Meridien Hotel has better geographical conditions, the hotel is located in Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street, is right to People's Square, close to Shanghai Museum and Shanghai Grand Theatre. According to the staff of its room reservation department, the rate of booking of rooms in September and October was already above 50%. The superior geographical conditions have obviously increased the advantages of hotel guests.

Due to the large scale of Le Royal Meridien Shanghai, it recruited 1,300 employees within four months and has completed a three-week training for all employees. According to Yan, the manager said that all the hardware in the Le Meridien hotel rooms has been completed and the lobby is now being decorated. It is expected that the acceptance of the hotel's entire project facilities will be completed by the end of August, and trial operations will begin in late September.
