Gmp ×ICICLE Women's Fashion | Architectural Dialogue Fashion

The famous architect Charles Gwathmey once said:

“Fashion is a design principle that inspires people to think: proportional structure, detail, material, texture, color and quality... Architecture and fashion are partners.”

This sentence is a good expression of ICICLE's ambitions and the original intention of gmp Architects to jointly create the bar code series on the occasion of ICICLE's 20th anniversary. The design inspiration comes from the “barcode architecture” created by GMP for Lingang Industrial Park.

The architectural concept of gmp follows the three principles of the ancient Roman architectural theorist Vitruvius: practical, sturdy and beautiful. GMP believes that architecture is given a strong and lasting significance because it is not only a sheltered place sheltered from wind and rain, but also a housing that contains rich and varied human behavior that is not self-explanatory in design.

The "practical, sturdy, and beautiful" architectural concept coincides with ICICLE's belief in making clothing. Through natural and comfortable fabrics, simple and practical design, and excellent manufacturing techniques, we strive to provide a comfortable and natural commuting experience for all-working workers. Based on this consensus, gmp also created a multi-functional Lingang Fashion Industrial Park with production, logistics, and showgrounds for ICICLE.

This time, we joined forces with gmp again to jointly present the architectural exhibition titled “architecture for conversation and fashion gmp x ICICLE”, marking the end of the 20-year natural journey of ICICLE.

Gmp will also publish a book entitled "Industrial Architecture in a Metropolitan Context." It will explore how to enhance the quality of urban space with a mix of shape and spirit. It includes 31 excellent architectural projects in the history of gmp.
