Sino-U.S. Cotton Textile Industry Exchange Signed Letter of Exchange Concerning Four Major Fields
On the afternoon of June 27th, the chairman of the National Cotton Council (NCC) Mr. Shane Stephens visited the China Textile Industry Federation. The two parties exchanged views on the development status of the textile industry in China and the United States and the cooperation of the cotton spinning industry. Both parties also signed the "Law of Intent of the China Cotton Textile Industry Association and the U.S. National Cotton Federation to Further Promote Exchanges between the Parties."
It is understood that the U.S. National Cotton Federation and the China Textile Industry Federation have maintained long-term, friendly communication and exchanges. After the meeting of the World Textile Manufacturers Association in 2015, Gary Adams, president of the National Cotton Federation of the United States, met with President Wang Tiankai again during his visit to Beijing in March this year.
During the previous meeting, the two sides exchanged information on the supply-side reforms of the Chinese textile industry and the US cotton industry, and initially reached a cooperation intention. After the meeting, the National Cotton Association of the United States actively implemented the results of the meeting.
In the process of this visit, the American Cotton Association further learned about the 13th Five-Year Plan for China's textile industry and introduced the US cotton industry and its quality control.
In addition, the two sides also discussed ways and areas for strengthening cooperation between the textile industry in China and the United States, and took the opportunity to sign a letter of intent for cooperation between the National Cotton Federation of the United States and the China Cotton Textile Industry Association.
It is understood that the friendly cooperative relationship between the Chinese textile industry and the US cotton industry has reached more than a decade, thanks to the joint efforts of the China Cotton Textile Industry Association and the US National Cotton Federation. Through long-term and varied forms of interaction and cooperation, China and the United States have established a comprehensive and deepened cooperative relationship.
During this visit, the top leaders of the two sides unanimously agreed to further strengthen and upgrade the existing cooperation on the basis of win-win and consensus, and reached an agreement.
According to briefings, this cooperation aims to promote and develop exchanges and cooperation, specifically including four major areas:
(a) Strengthen the demand for cotton and cotton textile products;
(b) To jointly promote cotton and cotton yarns with quality as the core, with a focus on Chinese cotton products, as well as cotton and cotton yarns from the United States;
(c) Analysis and exchange of industry conditions;
(d) Training exchanges.
In addition, in the process of future cooperation, both parties can also increase or decrease cooperation areas based on the progress of cooperation.
